MDSolarSciences make mineral-based sunscreens with natural ingredients, and physical sunblock (titanium dioxide, 1.5% and zinc oxide 17%). The MDSolarSciences Mineral Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 50 UVA-UVB Sunscreen is made specifically for those with acne and rosacea-prone skin. I have used almost two full tubes of this sunscreen and have never broken out from it, so I definitely vouch for that property. Another one of my favourite properties of the “proprietary blend of ProVention-R™ antioxidants” in it, because SPF and antioxidants are crucial for when I am leaving the house.
In terms of wear, this product is super lightweight, and easy to blend. I don’t get too much of a crazy white-cast with this product as I do with many of the other physical sunscreens out on the market. It does feel “slimy” and silicone-like, but that helps with the blending. I do feel it on my face a bit but not as much compared to other physical sunscreens I’ve tried.
I have been browsing the drugstore and Sephora for a new sunscreen to try but I have yet to find a sunscreen that offers all the benefits that this sunscreen does. For that reason, I have no problem spending another $36CAD on another tube - it is definitely worth it to me.
